Albert was kindhearted and devoted to his family. Albert was affectionately known as "Big Al" to everyone.
He was a lover of animals, especially horses. He was past owner of many successful Delicatessens and was known as the Corned Beef and Hot Pastrami King.
Here are just a few of the many courageous deeds of valor he accomplished in his life. As a teenager, in a selfless act of courage, he saved a mother and child from a burning dwelling. He was a fierce champion of fighting against human oppression and bullying. Many a time he was entreated to physically save many people from acts of anti-Semitic violence.
He played multi-sports at the highest levels. He was offered a tryout for the NFL New York Giants football team after high school. In exhibition, he knocked out the reigning World Maccabiah Olympic Heavyweight Boxing Champion; Crowds of people could watch in fascination as this hulking man performed feats of athleticism such as throw a football over 60 yards behind his back or masterfully hit a boxing speed or heavy bag. He also enjoyed handball and racquetball.
Graveside service was held privately.
