Alexander M. Tanger, age 94 years, of Newton and West Dennis died peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Herman & Gertrude (Haft) Tanger. For 71 years, he was the beloved husband of Brenda (Ross). Loving father of Howard “Woody” Tanger of Needham, Marsha Ginsburg & her husband Harry of Newton and Douglas Tanger of Brookline. Adored grandfather “Gov” of Todd Tanger (Barbara), Gregory Ginsburg (Lesley), Amy Fine (Jonathan), and Jeffrey Ginsburg (Erin) and great grandfather of Annabelle, Joseph, William, Talia, Samuel, Liam, Evelyn, Cathleen, Lila, Conor and Alexander. Services at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Rd., Wellesley on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:30am. Interment at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton. Memorial observance immediately following interment until 4pm & 7-9pm and continuing Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at his late Newton residence.
