Arnold was raised in Everett, Mass., completing undergraduate studies at M.I.T and receiving his graduate degrees from Northeastern University. From childhood on, Arnold loved books and learning on a wide range of subjects including science, medicine, history and the arts. He was a brilliant engineer, working for the U.S. Navy for his entire career. Arnold possessed a tremendous body of knowledge and was a resource for his family whenever a question arose. He was also a talented pianist and poet, and had a beautiful singing voice. Arnold loved tinkering with electronics and fixing items from brakes to radios!
Arnold was very proud of his Jewish heritage and learned in Jewish religion, ritual and customs. He enjoyed studying Jewish texts with his Rabbi and others, as well as attending and participating in services at his Temples.
In spite of his many accomplishments and keen intellect, Arnold was very modest and quiet. He was also gentle, kind and patient. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
