Arthur Stewart Rubin, a devoted father, grandfather, and lifelong businessman, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was 80 years old.
Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on February 20, 1945, to Philip and Reba (Stern) Rubin, Arthur carried with him a deep New England sensibility, a stubborn wit, and an unrelenting drive. Early in his career, he founded and ran a successful electrical company in Massachusetts, demonstrating the hands-on, hard-working ethic that would define his life.
Never one to stop learning, Arthur went on to earn both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Boston College. He later built and led a consulting and accounting firm that served communities in MA, FL, and VA with integrity and diligence until his health declined.
Arthur was married to the love of his life, Judith (Neitlich) Rubin, with whom he shared decades of marriage, laughter, and partnership. Judith passed away in 2021, and in his final years, Arthur often spoke of how deeply he missed her.
He leaves behind three children and six grandchildren, each of whom carry his legacy forward. His daughter, Faith Rubin, lives in Chesapeake, VA. Her daughter, Rebecca Long, lives in Virginia Beach. His son Jeffrey Rubin and daughter-in-law Jennifer live in Syracuse, NY, and are parents to Nathan and Benjamin. His son Adam Rubin and daughter-in-law Jonna live in Framingham, MA, and have three children: Samantha, Allie, and Joshua.
Arthur was a man who commanded respect - complicated, opinionated, and deeply loving. He had a strong presence and never backed down. Dementia stole much from him this past year, but even then, moments of connection and tenderness shone through, revealing the man his family knew and loved. His children and their families will remember his fight, his fire, his humor - and above all, his love. He is now reunited with Judith, and may he finally be at peace.
A graveside service will be held at Boylston Lodge Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA, on Friday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Arthur’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or another organization dedicated to dementia research and support.
