Barbara Mae (Saunders) Solov

Barbara Mae (Saunders) Solov, age 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved daughters Diane and Marcia on June 22, 2021 after a courageous battle against cancer,. She was born in Lynn, MA to Sidney & Mary Saunders. She graduated from Simmons College with a degree in Accounting and in August of 1951, she married Leonard Solov, who preceded her in death in 1982.

After raising the family in Newton, MA, Barbara and Leonard moved to Cape Cod, where she lived for over 30 years. She shared a 20+ year-long companionship with John Swierzbin who passed away in 2018.

She loved her family beyond words. She enjoyed playing bridge, loved to cook, travel and read a good book. Her recipes are a legacy that continue to be passed on within and outside the family as the best of the best.

Her oldest daughter Janet passed away in 2003 after a long battle with cancer. Barbara is survived by her two daughters and their husbands; Diane & Glenn Ekey and Marcia & Brian McNulty, her son-in-law; Bill Callaway, and her sister; Bernice Colt. She was “Super-G” to four amazing grandchildren; Matthew, Lauren, Lizzie and Robin. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Funeral services were private.
