Betty F. Greenman

Betty F. Greenman (Yellin) of Greenfield, formerly of Newton, Needham, and Hull, on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Leon Greenman and Charles Sidney Shafran. Loving mother of Stephanie B. Shafran and Lee S. Shafran. Adored grandmother of Lenore Palladino, Celeste Palladino, Simone Palladino, Justin Shafran and David Shafran, and great-grandmother of ll great-grandchildren. Betty had a zest for life that survived the premature death of her first husband at age 41. She remarried two years later and her second marriage lasted 34 years. She spent almost every summer of her long life at her beloved summer seaside cottage in Pemberton (Hull), surrounded by family and friends. Betty graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Library Sciences from Simmons College, and spent her professional career as a dedicated librarian in a variety of communities, college and public school settings. Services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Tuesday, March 3 at 11:30am. Burial in Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury.
