It is with great sadness that the family of Boris Leonid Senchkovskiy announces his passing on Thursday May 30, 2019, at the age of 81 years. Boris never stopped bravely fighting his cancer until the very end and passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Born in Ukraine on February 14, 1938, Boris lived a long and extraordinary life. He served in the Soviet Army, was a train engineer transporting goods from St. Petersburg to Siberia, managed a foundry and worked as a construction contractor in Zhitomir, Ukraine. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1994 so that his children and grandchildren could have a better life. In the US, Boris watched his family grow and flourish. He was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren, bringing flowers to his wife Anna, and watching his children succeed in their careers.
Boris will be forever missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna, children Felix (Inna) Senkovsky and Diana (Jim) Oliver, grandchildren Serge, Lenny (Sarah), Max, and Sammy, sister Tatiana (Boris) Vaks and brother Roman Senchkovskiy.
Friends and family will remember Boris’s resilience, love for his family, endless love and devotion for his wife.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline. Interment will be at Puritan-Mount Sinai Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Boris's memory may be made to the Russian Jewish Community Foundation at https://rjcf.com/.
