

Daryll S. Handell, age 66, of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, surrounded by his three children.
Born in Worcester, MA, Daryll was known for his sense of humor, thoughtfulness, and love of family. Daryll grew up in Fall River, MA and graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Business. He started his career in Houston in the oil industry but quickly developed his sales talent, which led him to his dedicated and successful career in the packaging industry. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Daryll was often called “Bud light.” His lifelong dream was fulfilled by being a dad to his three beautiful children Lyndsay, Brett, and Tori. He was the ultimate sports dad, coaching his son and his friends. He loved watching all his daughters’ skating and dance competitions and attended almost every single one. Most importantly, he loved nothing more than spending quality time with his kids. Whether they were hanging out having a deep conversation where he offered his pearls of wisdom, going on an adventure outside, or simply taking a drive to his favorite ice cream stand - there was a deep bond between Daryll and his three kids. They were always laughing and supporting one another.
Daryll is lovingly remembered by his parents Morin (Bud) and Estelle Handell of Highland Beach, FL and Warren, RI. He was a cherished brother to Lezli and brother-in-law Jamie Pious, the wonderful late Jodi Robbin and brother-in-law Bruce Robbin. Daryll will always be remembered by his three children and their spouses Lyndsay and Ross Kannenberg of Waltham, MA, Brett and Kelsey Handell of Boston, MA, and Tori and Steven Heller of Boston, MA, and their mother Risë. In addition to being a doting father, he was an incredible dog dad to Teddy, and loved spending time with his granddogs Luna, Moose, and Hudson. He is additionally survived by his nephews and nieces, Daniel and Jamie Pious, Jordan Pious, Tammy Robbin, Emily and Michael Cohen. Daryll loved being a great uncle to Ruby, Maddie, and Josh.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 11:00am at Temple Beth Avodah, 45 Puddingstone Lane, Newton, MA. The services will be available via livestream at the following link: www.levinelive.com/daryllhandell
Burial will follow at Agudath Israel Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA. Following the burial, the family will observe shiva back at Temple Beth Avodah from 1:00–4:00pm. Shiva will also be observed on Monday, July 14, and Tuesday, July 15, between the hours of 1:30–3:00pm and 6:00–8:00pm at Lyndsay and Ross’s home. Service will occur at 7:00pm both Monday and Tuesday.
