
Rothman, David – of Newton formerly of Cambridge, MA, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2015 at the age of 93. Devoted husband of the late Ilene (Israel) Rothman. He later married the late Cele (Waxman) Rothman. Loving and cherished father of Kenneth Rothman and his wife Susan of Needham and Steven Rothman and his wife Catherine of Newton. Loving stepfather of Warren and Cathy Patick of Key West, FL. Dearest big brother of Milton, George and Morris Rothman. Devoted grandfather of Jamie, Michael, and Thomas Rothman. David served his country during WWII in the European Campaign where he earned his Victory and Good Conduct Medals. Upon return from war he married Ilene (Israel) Rothman. He began a journey of various employments including Magee’s and Jordan Marsh; owning his own appliance service business and eventually owning Salem Street True Value Hardware Store in Boston’s North End, where he worked alongside his son, Ken, for 50 years. They shared a unique and loving partnership; they were each other’s best friend. Funeral services at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 12:30pm. Interment at Chevra Shaas Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, W. Roxbury. Memorial Observance will be held immediately following interment at Nahanton Woods, Function Room, 210 Nahanton Street, Newton. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
