Sobol-Edith (Gashin), of Newton, formerly of Quincy, MA, passed away on April 14, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Herbert Sobol, and the late Julius Silverman. Devoted mother of David Silverman and his wife Shari of East Brunswick, NJ, and Esther Foley of Millis, MA. Adored step-mother of Michael, Jason, and Richard Sobol. Loving sister of Lillian Goff of Worcester, MA, and the late Irving Gashin. Edith is survived by 11 grandchildren and was the proud great-grandmother of 5 great-grandchildren. Services at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon St., Brookline, MA on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:30 AM. Memorial observance will be at The Falls at Cordingly Dam, 2300 Washington St., Newton, MA from 2-8 PM Friday, and will continue Saturday 12-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
