Florence (Sweeder) Sebell, of Weston and formerly of Wayland, passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 93. Born in Boston, she was the youngest daughter of David and Anna Sweeder. Known lovingly as "Flossie," she attended Dorchester High School and went on to study at Boston University's School of Practical Arts & Letters.
Florence was the beloved wife of the late Leonard (Lenny) Sebell for 67 years. Together, they built a life, a family, and a business — working side by side at MSM Industries, where Florence served as office manager.
She was the loving mother of Jeffrey and Vicki Sebell, Robin and Jeffrey Sklar, Susan and Neal Heffron, and William Sebell and Elizabeth Cahn. Florence was the adored grandmother of Dustin and Lauren Sebell, Emily and Jon Ragsdale, Stephanie Sklar and Paul Davis, Samantha Sklar, Ariella Heffron, Brooke Sebell and Emma Einhorn, and Anna Sebell. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Noa and Avery Ragsdale, Cecelia Sebell, and Leona and Avi Davis. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Marvin S. Kaplan, and by her sister- and brother-in-law, Lillian and Burton Blair.
Florence's greatest joy was the life and family she built with Lenny. She delighted in hosting family gatherings, playing tennis on Thursdays mornings, and spending time at their home in New Hampshire. In retirement, she and Lenny enjoyed visiting Marco Island. Above all, Florence cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — attending more sports games and dance recitals than anyone could count.
A graveside service will be held at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland, on Sunday, April 26th, at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA), 30 Lyman Street, Suite 10, Westborough, MA 01581 (www.biama.org), or to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
