Dr. Frederick Henry Kahn of Holliston, MA, formally of Tenafly, NJ and Amagansett, NY, passed away on December 7, 2020 after battling with cancer. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Greta (Nisenson) Kahn. Fred is lovingly remembered by daughters Wendy Kogan of Holliston, MA and Leslie Kahn Logan of Grafton, MA, grandchildren Leah, Harrison, Jordan, Grayson and Averie.
Fred had a long and distinguished dental practice for 47 years while teaching endodontics at New York University College of Dentistry for 50 years. His research was published in numerous dental journals, he belonged to several dental societies, and received numerous honors over the years. His dental students loved him so much that he was awarded “Best Teacher in Endodontics” numerous times.
Along with his own ambitions, it was important to him that his daughters follow their own passions. He couldn’t be prouder of his software engineer and marine geologist daughters. A man of many stories, Fred loved to brag about his children and grandchildren. Family was his life.
Fred loved Greta’s cooking, playing his guitar, blaring country music, playing tennis and beach volleyball, speeding down the highway in his Porches and Beemers, and Tanqueray and Tonics. He had a passion for woodworking; every house in the “KLogan family” has at least one original Fred Kahn piece. Fred got SCUBA certified because of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and made sure Wendy and Leslie became his faithful SCUBA Buddies.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a private service is scheduled on December 10, 2020 at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation in East Falmouth, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
