Gloria (Hochman) Benjamin was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and graduated cum laude from Boston University. Soon after graduation she met her husband, Ken, and raised two children in Brookline, MA. Gloria passed away on August 15, 2024.
She was an active volunteer and president from 1984-1987 of the Jewish Recuperative Center Women's Auxiliary. She and Ken also established the Gloria R. and Kenneth F. Benjamin Scholarship Fund at The Rivers School in Weston, MA.
Gloria was an avid tennis player, an art enthusiast, and a reluctant boater for many years. She was also a devoted daughter to her late parents, Rose and Murray Hochman.
Always known as a gracious host and fabulous cook, Gloria excelled at making her guests feel warm and welcome in her home. Despite her failing health, she delighted in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Gloria is survived by her children, Michael (Ronna) and Sharon (Steve); by her grandchildren, Anne, Edward (Shannon), Melissa (Elliot), Harrison, and Benjamin; and by her great-grandchild, Forrest Benjamin.
The funeral and burial will be held privately. The family will be sitting shiva at her late residence on Tuesday, August 20th, 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and Wednesday, August 21st, 2:00pm to 7:00pm.
