

Hannah N Burger passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on May 5, 1934. in Budapest, Hungry to an Orthodox Jewish family.
At age seven, during the Holocaust, she hid with a Christian family and while there, her mother was taken to the Danube and killed by the Hungarian Nazi collaborators.
At thirteen, as a proud Zionist she emigrated to Israel and her boyfriend Hillel, sister Judit, and her father and stepmother soon followed her there.
At seventeen while in the army, she married her boyfriend of many years, Hillel Burger. She had two boys, Oded and Joav, and raised them while working full time as a draftsperson, working on the Knesset among other projects.
In 1968 the family moved to Newton MA, following her husband's family. She obtained her GED, and a BA from Harvard while working full time, raising her family and always leading by example. Her priority was family, and she hosted memorable Passovers and other family occasions.
Hannah will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her sons Oded (Julie) and Joav (Lisa), her grandchildren Stephanie (Tom), Daniel, Josh (Olivia), and Jonathan (Alane), and her great granddaughter Addison.
