Harold Hal S. Frank

Harold S.Frank, of Weston and Falmouth MA, on Sunday, June 30, 2013. For 64 years, he was the beloved husband of Charlotte (Adelman) Frank. Loving father of Eric Frank & Penni Montalbano of Pasadena CA, Lee & Pnina Frank of Jerusalem Israel, Alexander Frank & Jane Sandler Frank of New York City and Susan & Arthur Flashman of Chestnut Hill, MA. Adored grandfather of Adam, Daniel, Avraham, Eli, Naomi, Kendall, Annabel, Danielle, and Kaela and great grandfather of Doron and Gavriel. Dear brother of Lila Silver of Brockton and dear uncle of Lynda DiPietro, Deborah Howe, and Larry Silver.

Hal served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, and was a graduate of the Boston Latin School, Dartmouth College, and the Tuck Business School. He had a distinguished retail business career, first at Abraham and Straus Department Stores where he served as Senior Vice President for Merchandising, and then as CEO of Bradlees Department Stores. While at Bradlees, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Stop and Shop Companies. He was CEO of Jordan Marsh Department Stores until his retirement. An avid student of history and politics, he was a valued mentor and a great friend to many, and a lifelong devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00pm. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park, 41 Dedham St., Sharon. Memorial reception immediately following the burial at his late residence. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
