

Ingrid was the most loving mother of Karla, Marc and Eric Filzer. She was the devoted wife of Dr.Alan L. Filzer for 39 years. Ingrid was the beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and loving sister to Ramon Figueroa, Daniel Figueroa, Juan Figueroa, Rosa Figueroa, Luisa Figueroa and Carolina Banks-Despradel. She was the daughter of Carlos Banks and Rosa Estevez. Ingrid emigrated to the United States from her birth country of the Domincan Republic in the late 1960's. She graduated from UMass Boston with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Ingrid was a person who always tried to help everyone. SHe always had a smile and positive attitude that made people gravitate towards her. She was so kind to everyone she came in contact with.
For more than 20 years, Ingrid worked in Food Services for the Newton School System. She was entirely devoted to her family. Her eyes would light up whenever she looked at or spoke about her husband and children. Ingrid was the best mother and wife that anyone could have asked for. She made the world a better place. She and her husband Alan were happiest when simply being together, reading or holding hands, showing their love for one another.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice, as Ingrid was a generous donor to numerous charities. A service will be held at a later date.
