Irving Belansky died peacefully on January 21, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on January 2, 1931 in Malden, MA, Irving was the son of Samuel and Esther Belansky.
He had a deep love for the Jewish community and the study of torah. Irving served as President of Temple Isaiah in Lexington, Northeast Council of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, and Synagogue Council of Massachusetts.
He believed a good life was built on “meaning, purpose, joy, and shalom”.
People were drawn to Irving’s sense of humor, style, wisdom, and trademark “nevah bettah”.
Irving is survived by his children Aaron (Cris) and Elaine (Nick). He was the beloved “Zayde” to his five grandchildren (Satchel, Kendall, Maya, Lowell, and Talia). He was preceded in death by his beshert, Marilyn Buckler, sister Irma, and brother Ed.
A funeral will be held on January 28 at 12pm at Temple Isaiah in Lexington. Shiva will be held at the temple on January 29 and via Zoom on January 31.

His legacy lives on through his family and the impact he made on the Reform Jewish Community.
