

Jane Ludwig Simon of Palm Beach, FL and Chestnut Hill, MA, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Palm Beach on July 6, 2023 after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was 89.
Jane was born to Anne and Herbert Ludwig on Oct 21, 1933 in Newton, MA. Jane graduated from Beaver Country Day School and earned a B.A. from Bennington College. She married Dr. Harold Simon and became a full-time mother to their two beloved children, Steven and John, and a doting grandmother to her four cherished grandchildren.
Jane was a voracious reader of novels and news media, enjoyed the arts and loved the theater, was engrossed in politics and culture, and was the epitome of high fashion. And she maintained a two-year Wordle streak in a family club she organized. Above all, she was a devoted, caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Jane was a member of Belmont Country Club and Temple Emanuel.
Jane is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Harold Simon, and leaves two sons, Steven and his wife Elizabeth and John and his wife Susan and four beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Thomas, Abigail and Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jane’s honor to The Dana Farber Cancer Center or to Temple Emanuel in Newton MA.
Jane’s family would like to thank her many caregivers for their years of dedicated service, support and love.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Adath Jeshrun Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
Shiva visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 11 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the home of Susan and John Simon.
