

Janice Klein Fineman died peacefully on Dec 15, 2023, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Howard and her children, Debbie, Dan and his wife Leslie; her siblings Melvin Klein, sister-in-law Elissa Klein, who was married to her late brother Jerry Klein, and Susan Fairchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Janice had a distinguished career in fundraising for Brandeis University, first as a volunteer, and then as professional staff, retiring as Executive Director of the Brandeis National Committee. She enjoyed mentoring others and helping them grow. After retiring, she volunteered with SOAR Management Consulting, sharing her expertise with non-profits in Greater Boston. When her children were school-age, she co-led religious education and youth group committees at Temple Beth Avodah.
Janice loved reading, learning, walking, staying fit, visiting museums and art galleries, and traveling. She loved engaging with her friends and always focused on helping others first. Her radiant smile and eyes lit up the room. Her volunteer and professional work led to many long-term friendships.
Funeral service will be held at Temple Beth Avodah, 45 Puddingstone Lane, Newton MA on Tuesday, December 19 at 10 am. It will be streamed from the temple at https://player2.streamspot.com/?playerId=6d002d7e
Following the service, burial will be held at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Center MA. Shiva details will be announced at the funeral service.
