

Jeanne (Golden) Spunt, 83, of Newton and Essex, Ma died peacefully at home on August 30, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Boston on March 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Rhoda Golden. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Norman Spunt. Jeanne graduated from Brighton High School and Northeastern University, and was employed at Radcliff College and Temple Emmanuel prior to raising her children.
Jeanne had an innate love of life which attracted many to her sphere. She enjoyed her family and her many friends tremendously, and they were often the lucky recipients of her gourmet cooking. Jeanne was a world-wide traveler, having explored many places off the beaten track. She appreciated experiencing life in other countries, looking at the day-to-day through the eyes of those who lived there. Jeanne loved the ocean and spent many happy summers enjoying Cape Cod and Conomo Point with her family. Jeanne’s gift was living in the moment and being an eternal optimist.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, D. Adriane Spunt of Brighton, and her son, Eric Spunt and his wife, Kate, of Newton. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter and pal, Sydney Jeanne Spunt. Over the last 6 years, Jeanne summered on Conomo Point in Essex enjoying the love and companionship of William P. Crossen.
Private graveside services were held at Sharon Memorial Park on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Memorial observance was private. Contributions in Jeanne’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
