Jerome A. Berman, a resident of Boston, MA, previously of Dover, MA, born in Milwaukee, WI in 1935 to Ella and Henry Berman, passed away at 90 years old in his home on April 29, 2026. He was surrounded by close family and caregivers, who loved him and were devoted to him deeply.
A man of remarkable humor and intellect, he inspired those around him to love fiercely and to follow their dreams without reservation. Jerome was the CEO and founder of Dynacraft Industries, LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of bicycle brands worldwide, including Magna, Vertical and private labels for mass market. This included popular licenses for Disney, Marvel, and other well-known brands. He rarely spoke of this, and many are often surprised, he was the largest manufacturer of mass market bicycles in the world with offices in Ashland, MA, San Francisco, CA, New York City, NY, Hong Kong and mainland China. Jerome started many companies throughout the years, and his ingenuity in toys, adult and children’s bikes and skateboards was unparalleled; he succeeded long into his life in this field. He is survived by numerous family members, including his beloved wife, Jane A. Berman. She not only shares his initials, but also his love for design and licensing. Their homes were covered in unique designs they created throughout their 33 years of marriage. They split their time between mountain homes and their residence on Boston Harbor, where they enjoyed watching planes from all over the world land, which reminded them of their many worldwide adventures together.
Jerome was a member of Pine Brook Country Club, the San Francisco Yacht Club, and the University Club of Boston. He was also a member of the Corporate Director’s Club and the Executive Life Club. He enjoyed collecting stamps, was a bird enthusiast, a great lover of classical music and a fishing enthusiast from the dock of his vacation home in Maine. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962 and liked to regale his family with stories. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his twin brother Jerold Berman, older brother Neil Berman, younger sister Judy Cohl, two daughters Brigitte Strasser Berman and Margot Peick, sons-in-law Patrick Strasser and Andrew Peick, son John Berman and grandson, Parker Berman. He is predeceased by his son Mark A. Berman and his brothers Phillip Berman and David Berman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 11 AM, at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02445. Interment will be private. A celebration of life will be announced in the near future. He was a proud supporter of the Chabad Center of Natick MetroWest located at 159 Boden Lane, Natick, MA 01760 and would encourage donations in lieu of flowers be made in his honor to Rabbi Levi Fogelman, who continues to inspire and to provide comfort to our family.
