GOODFADER, Joel Ira of Sherborn passed away on May 18, 2022, at the age of 61. Beloved husband of Marlene A. Evernden (formerly Hay), with whom he shared over 33 loving years. Devoted son of Muriel Halperson Goodfader and the late Dr. Samuel Goodfader. Dear brother of Emily and Meryl Goodfader. Cherished cousin of Paula and Bill Manburg and their children Sarah, Lauren, David and Sam as well as many more cousins. Adored late pets Goose, Paco, Thumper, Pablo and Camus. Joel is survived by a host of friends (including Joel Karlin) and colleagues.
Joel was an accomplished entrepreneur who successfully envisioned and created several companies starting in college and throughout his 20’s and 30’s. As a Media Executive, he was known as a wonderfully creative marketer and visionary in his field whose work was promoted across the United States. Joel lived his entire life on his own terms and was generous with his family and friends. A known raconteur, he enjoyed reading and researching, astronomy, stewardship of historic homes, walking, and swimming. His favorite place was the Cape Cod National Seashore, and he was especially fond of quotations. Here is one that embodies his life: “Unable are the Loved to die, for Love is immortality.” – Emily Dickinson.
A private memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joel's memory may be made to “Rabbi Discretionary Fund at Ahavath Torah Congregation”.
