Judith Amy Blum, 62, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Judy loved the Red Sox, LL Bean, her cats, and cooking, and will be greatly missed by her family.
Born on Long Island in 1962, the daughter of the late Sam and Sylvia Blum, Judy was raised in Bethpage, NY and then Wilmington, MA. Judy attended SUNY Albany, majoring in Women’s Studies. After returning to Massachusetts, Judy studied Culinary Arts at Newbury College and then worked as a cook at the Pillar House and the Andover Inn. She gave up her career to provide devoted care at home for her parents for over a decade. Judy was happiest at home, posting on the Sons of Sam Horn board, watching sports on TV, making dinner for people she loved, and listening to the Beatles.
Judy was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in late 2020 and died due to complications from FTD. The family is grateful to the caring staff at Windrose in Woburn, where she resided over the past four years. She is survived by her brothers Andy and Jerry Blum, her sister-in-law Karin Blum, and her beloved niece Samira.
Services will be held at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA on Sunday January 12 at noon. Interment at Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Wakefield. MA. To livestream the service, please use this link:
