

Jules Gordon passed away Thursday, November 28, 20245 at the age of 87. Born Nov 24,1937 in Boston, MA, he is the youngest son of Joseph and Gertrude Gordon (Nee Seligman). He attended Boston Technical High School and Northeastern University where he majored in mechanical engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Gordon (nee Cone). Jules and Barbara and their family lived primarily in Springfield MA, Acton MA and later in Methuen MA. Later in life, he lived in the 2life community in Brighton, MA.
Jules had a successful 35-year career as a mechanical engineer focusing on special machinery which included Industrial Lasers and Robotics. He has multiple patents in his name. He was also chairman of the New England Robotics Society and the Toastmasters. He was an avid amateur historian having an important role in the North Andover Archaeological Society as well as a docent at the Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill, MA. He was compiling research on the ancient Hebrew language at the time of his passing. He was an enthusiast of black power musket shooting as well as conventional sharpshooting. He was a model railroader for many years having worked on several projects and active in the hobby. He loved a good competitive game of cards with friends. He was an active member of his local Jewish congregation and helped organize and lead services when needed.
His children and grandchildren will miss him very much.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Karen Gordon of Moreno Valley, CA, Scott Gordon and Kristin Butcher of Chicago, IL and Andrew and Annie Gordon of Haverhill, MA and six grandchildren Charlotte, Isabelle, Bennet, Yannik, Temana, and Puck. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gordon, his parents and brother Alan.
Services will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:00am in the Beth El Chapel at the Baker Street Jewish Cemetery, 776 Baker St, West Roxbury, MA followed by burial in the Stepiner Cemetery.
