

Kari (Krautman) Rosenkrantz, age 67 of Brookline, MA, formerly of Delmar, NY on Sunday, April 10. For 45 years the beloved wife of Robert Rosenkrantz. Devoted mother of Nikki Hadas & her husband Dave, Joelle Smith & her husband Jeremy, and Jed Rosenkrantz & his fiancé, Caitlin. Cherished daughter of Harvey and the late Anne (Dorf) Krautman. Loving grandmother of Nathan and Sophia Hadas, Eliana and Dylan Smith. Sister of Jeff Krautman.
Kari obtained her BA in Education from Syracuse University, a Masters Degree in Developmental Reading from the State University of New York in Albany, and a degree in Interior Design from Russell Sage College. She was a teacher, an interior decorator, and an author of a published children's book, "A Special Suitcase," explaining surrogacy to children. She was a founding member of both a children's literacy program and a Teaching Tolerance program in the Capital District of New York. Kari also volunteered at the Holocaust Education Center, Jewish Federation of Northeast New York, and Albany Crime Victims Advocacy Program. In Boston, she established POEMeGRAINate, a non-profit through which she wrote custom poems and songs for any occasion with all proceeds going to The Greater Boston Food Bank. Most importantly to her, she was a supportive and loving mother to her three children and their spouses and an adoring "Mimi" to her four grandchildren.
Services will be at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 AM. Interment at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland. Everyone is invited to the home of Nikki & Dave Hadas, 20 Pilgrim Drive, Winchester, for a post funeral reception at 1:30 PM. Memorial observance will also be held at the home of Nikki & Dave Hadas on Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14 from 6-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Greater Boston Food Bank, 70 S. Bay Avenue, Boston, MA 02118 or a charity of choice.
