Lillian “Betty” (Hyman) Silberstein, of Newton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Irving Silberstein. Loving mother of Myra Silberstein of Washington, DC and Philip Silberstein and his wife Lesley of Newton and adored and cherished grandmother(Bubbie) of Bethany Silberstein. Loving aunt to Jennifer Feingold(late Dr. Harris Feingold), Gail Krumbholz and Ellen Russell. Great aunt to Cari and Bobby Steinbach and Paul Feingold. Betty was predeceased by her beloved parents, Ida(Orlov) and Meyer Hyman and her twin brother Richard Hyman, and her siblings, Henry Hyman, Stella and Henry Hamlin. Sister-in-law to Marilyn and Arnold Singer.
Betty was a homemaker and spent 20 years as a volunteer and then buyer at the MGH General Store.
We lost a remarkable human being whose spirit will live in all of us who were lucky enough to love her or have been loved by her. She was the most nurturing and caring person the world has ever seen. She will forever be in our hearts.
A private burial and memorial service has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Temple Emanuel in Newton.
