

He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Jane Levin Barber and his frist wife, Mary (Davis) Barber. He was a loving father to his children and step children: Suzette Barbier (husband Cyrus Whittier), Jennifer Barber (husband Peter Brown), Ben Barber (wife Nancy Barber), Jon Levin (partner Paula Hartstein), Steven Levin (wife Marjorie Levin) and the late Nancy Levin. In addition, he had much joy from his eight grandchildren Josh, Jeff, Alex, Andrew, Benjamin, Zoe, Rachel and Mia.
Louis had the extraordinary good fortune of having many lifelong friends with whom he enjoyed tennis, golf, skiing, hiking and many good times. He was CEO of Wolfers Lighting and a renaissance man who was an avid student of science, music, history and literature.
A service celebrating the life of Louis will be held on Monday, Oct. 20th, 10:30 a.m. at Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline. The family will be receiving friends Monday and Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the home of Louis and Jane Barber.
