

Marilyn Ann (Smokler) Berman, age 96, of Auburndale, formerly of Waltham, Brookline, and Brighton MA, died peacefully on July 15, 2023, after a tough battle.
Marilyn, was born in Winthrop to the late Henry & Esther Smokler, and grew up with her sister, the late Irene Steinfeld. Marilyn was married to the love of her life the late Lawrence H. Berman for 56 years.
Marilyn’s greatest joy was being a stay-at-home Mom for her 3 children. She is survived by her son Robert A. Berman (Lori), daughter Sandra E. Stoner (Greg), son Richard N. Berman (Debbie). Her beloved grandchildren to whom she was known as Grandma; Jeffrey, Michael, David, Ashley, Lindsay, Stephanie, Adam, Allie, and Emily and the late Andrew. Marilyn was also blessed with great-grandchildren who affectionately called her Gigi; Kianna, Kaiden, Liam, Connor, Graham, Lucas, and Zachary. Marilyn was also survived by her brother & sister-in-law Wayne & Bobbie Berman and her sister-in-law Donna Popkin Miller as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn’s passions were her family, Mahjong, Canasta, Bingo, cooking and baking, and loved sharing her baked goods with family and friends. Her summer passion was going to the pool to get her tan on! Marilyn always put herself together and looked beautiful, but never believed she was beautiful.
Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Tuesday, July 18 at 11:00am followed by burial at Lindwood Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph.
