Born in Dorchester, MA to Robert and Esther Green, Margie spent most of her childhood and adult life in Newton, MA where she became a beloved member of the community known for her lively charm, saucy humor, raw candor, and selfless spirit.
This selfless spirit led her to work in industries like cosmetology and caregiving, where she thrived on being able to enrich the quality of life for others, through beauty, through warmth, and through connectivity.
Beyond the meaning that Margie found in her work, her greatest source of happiness was her family. She basked in their presence, and they in hers, whether lakefront in New Hampshire, visiting her grandchildren in Israel, Thanksgivings in New Jersey with her sisters, or the trip to Florida to celebrate her seventieth birthday joined by the whole meshpucha; creating a lifetime of memories to cherish.
Margie Green was a fun, funny, warm, loving woman who made every stranger a friend and every occasion a party. She is revered by those who were fortunate to have known her and will be dearly missed.
Those she leaves behind are doting daughters, Robbie Stanhope of New Hampshire and Roberta (Jon) Gordon of Swampscott, beloved sisters, Nanci Reid of Florida and Norma (Jim) Sokolowsky of New Jersey, adoring grandchildren Rachel, Jeffrey, and Sam Warach, Jared and Cece Gordon, Ari, Eitan and Ashira Green, and a huge family of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews who will all miss her eternally. Margie will join her son, David Green, and grandson, Aaron Warach, in heaven.
Service will be at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker Street West Roxbury.
