

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, MARJORIE RUTH HARRISON of Washington, DC. Dear sister of Martha (Haim) Brill. Marjorie is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Sophie Silverstein Harrison and her sister, Louise (the late Neil) Leader.
After graduating from Brandeis University, Marjorie joined the Peace Corps and served in Malaysia. When she returned home, she attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she received her Doctorate in Education. She worked in higher education, first at Colgate University and then at Chatham University. In her early forties, she left academia to enter the U.S. Foreign Service. She served in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Benin, India, Mauritius, and Malaysia before retiring to her home in Washington, DC.
She loved people, animals, art, and travelling. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow. The chapel service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at www.levinelive.com/marjorieharrison .
Shiva will be held at the home of Martha Brill, following the services on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., and continuing on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m.
