Mark S. Ain

Obituario de Mark S. Ain
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Levine Chapels

...

Mark Ain of Fort Myers, Florida, died on July 25, 2025. He was 82.

Born in New York City on April 23, 1943, Mark grew up in Sea Cliff, New York, the oldest of five children. After finishing among the top students in his class at North Shore High School in Glen Head, New York, Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester Simon Business School.

In 1977, Mark began what would become his life’s work: starting Kronos Incorporated. Over the next 30 years, Mark poured himself into his career, building Kronos from an idea to a company that transformed the workforce management space. Kronos set records for consecutive quarters of profitability and revenue growth as a private and then public company and employed thousands of people worldwide.

During these years, Mark also built his family. Alongside his exciting career, Mark prioritized meaningful time with his three children as he coached their sports teams and taught them to ski in their younger years and became an ever-present sounding board for important decisions as they grew older, started their own careers, and built their own families.

Later in life, Mark became a generous supporter and funder of entrepreneurship programs around the country, including at the University of Rochester, Brandeis University, and Florida Gulf Coast University, where he shared his time, wisdom, mentorship, and financial support to cultivate the next generation of entrepreneurs. Other philanthropic endeavors included workforce development programs at Lee Health and Lahey Health.

Mark is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Josh, Adam, and Rebecca, and their mother, Lillian; his children’s spouses, Rachelle, Jessica, and Michael; his seven grandchildren, Alexander, Coral, Ruby, Theo, Mattea, Talia, and Jaiden; his siblings, Brent, Ross, Aron, and Alice and their families; and his company, now UKG, which has continued to grow and impact the world.

Mark’s life was defined by intelligence, vision, tenacity, love for the color orange, fierce independence, and a relentless loyalty to those in his corner. His legacy will live on through his family, his company, his memoir "Not Just in Time", the educational programs he supported, and all those he touched along the way.
