Melvin J. Sallen, age 84, of Dedham, formerly of Newton and Sharon, on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Lois Sallen (Margil) and the late Cecily Sostek Sallen. Loving father of Ira Sallen & his wife Susan, Elise Cherny & her husband David, and Debbie Werner & her husband Joseph. Adored grandfather of Marissa & her husband Michael, Amanda & her husband David, Joshua, Michael & his wife Lauren, Allyson Jason and Lindsay, and great grandfather of Zachary and Harlow. Dear brother of Rosalind Haytowitz & her late husband Eliot, Eileen Darman & her late husband Jacob and David Saplansky. Cherished Uncle Mel to his many nieces and nephews.

Services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Thursday, November 8 at 11:00am. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 41 Dedham Street, Sharon. Following burial, memorial observance will be at the home of Elise and David Cherny until 5:00pm and resuming 7-9:00pm, and on Friday,1:00pm until sunset.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Red Cross.
