Michael Grossman, of Boston, MA, and Delray Beach, FL, passed away on December 17, 2025. Born on May 26, 1939, he lived a remarkable life shaped by resilience, devotion, and quiet strength. From surviving the hardships of wartime to rebuilding his life across Israel, Italy, and the United States, Michael met every challenge with courage and integrity. He was a man of action—skilled with both his hands and his mind—and someone whose reliability and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Michael built a distinguished career that spanned engineering, military service, small‑business ownership, and ultimately 35 years at MIT, where he served as chief mechanic of a nuclear reactor and director of a prototype laboratory. He was deeply respected for his expertise, humility, and unwavering work ethic.
A devoted husband to his beloved Raya for 53 years, Michael created a warm and welcoming home filled with love, tradition, and family. He was the steady center of his family’s life—the “best father and grandfather”—and in his later years, he embraced an active life in Florida surrounded by friends, swimming daily, and enjoying time with those he loved.
Michael is survived by his daughter Stella and her husband Semen; his grandchildren Simone and Aaron; Simone’s husband Tim; and his great‑grandson Raylan. He is reunited in peace with his beloved wife Raya and their son Samuil. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who loved him.
A graveside service will be held at Ostro Marshoe Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, on Sunday, December 21st at 9:00 a.m. A memorial gathering will follow immediately at the Petal Restaurant in the Iris Hotel, 30 Webster Street, Brookline, with parking available behind the building.
