Mildred (Karlin) Platten, lifelong resident of Newton, daughter of the late Harry and Rose Karlin, was entered into rest on August 5, 2016. Devoted mother of Steven and his wife Sheryl Platten and Paul and his wife Pamela Platten. Loving sister of the late Frances Bernard and Samuel Karlin. Cherished grandmother of Jaclyn (& Robert) Bralower, Rachel Platten (& Kevin Lazan), Justin (& Chelsea) Platten, Melanie Platten (& Dr. Adam Feintisch) and great-grandchildren Jacob Bralower and Maya Platten . Services will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St, Brookline, on Sunday, August 7 at 1:30 PM. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Paul Platten through Monday evening.
