

Mireille was born and raised in La Goulette, Tunisia on June 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Emma and Maurice Cattan. She had a very close loving family including her two sisters Arlette and Lydia and two brothers George (wife Carol) and the late Andre(wife/Dolly) . At the age of 19 she religiously married her late husband Francois who she met in Tunis. They both immigrated to the United States in 1956 and were officially married in Cambridge, MA. The two of them settled down in Somerville, MA where she called home for 55 years. She later moved to Sunny Isles Beach, FL.
Mireille is survived by her four sons, Steve, Jerry, Michael and David, her six grandchildren, Daniel, Jason, Jessica, Justin, Sean and Tanya as well as her four great grandchildren, Abigail, Jaxon, Anthony and Logan.
Mireille was a seamstress by trade and then became a homemaker while she raised her four boys. She had many hobbies including traveling, playing cards, cooking and sewing. She made most of her own clothing in her early years. She enjoyed shopping and loved to dress up nice. Her family was the most important thing to her and she kept in touch with her family from around the world and spent a lot of time with her sons and grandchildren whom she was very proud of.
Mireille was always uplifting and a joy to be around. She had a way of making long lasting friendships instantly and although she made a life in the United States for over 56 years she never lost her memories of food and music from her home country.
Mireille’s passing will leave a hole in the hearts of many people, Her dog of 11 years Zimba, & people around the world and she will be missed dearly, but she is now at peace and with her husband Francois.
A graveside service for Mireille will be held Sunday July 14, 2024 from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at Fuller Street Jewish Cemeteries, 232 Fuller St, Everett, Mass.
