Nathan “Nate” Lubofsky of Cape Cod passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27th, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Mayer, his two brothers Paul and Barry, and is survived by his sister Susan.
Nate was born December 27, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Brandeis University, where he spent the majority of his career in fundraising and development as Director of Major Gifts.
An avid fan of Boston sports, Nate enjoyed fitness, the ocean, and continuing education which he pursued well into his 70s. In addition to being a life-long learner, he was a man that could make anyone in a room laugh, with a sense of humor distinctly his own.
Nate’s love for his family was unmatched, as the husband of Donna for 47 years; the father of Evan Lubofsky and his wife, Debbie Lubofsky; Lisa Wypyszinski and her husband, John Wypyszinski; Michael Lubofsky and his wife, Karen Iwasa; Jodi Murphy and her husband, Danny Murphy; and Terri Shirley and her husband, Dan Shirley. Nate was also the cherished grandfather of nine grandkids: Scott Lubofsky, Lindsey Lubofsky, Harris Eidelman, Lucy Murphy, Rowena Murphy, Daniel Shirley, Jack Shirley, Richie Contreras, and Emma Contreras.
The funeral will be held privately on Sunday. Donations in memory of Nate Lubofsky can be made to the Aaron Kushner Living Memorial Fund at Temple Israel of Natick, or the fund or charity of your choice.
