Nelson Wood

Dr. Nelson Wood, age 62, of Hyannis, MA, formerly of Brookline, MA on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Son of the late Rosa and Morris Wood, survivors of the Holocaust. Beloved husband of Allison Wood. Adored father of Gabe Wood and step-father of Allen Brown and grandfather of Alana Jade Brown. Loving brother of Martin Wood & his wife Liz, and Paula Wood and William Rodriguez and brother-in-law of Jennie Bromley and Gary Walker. Dear uncle of Ethan Wood (Stefani) Ilissa Wood Lipworth (Jared) Elana Coppola-Dyer (Lauren), Leah Dyer, and Carter. Dr. Wood founded The Wood Family Dental Practice in Hyannis where he helped hundreds of patients. He regularly provided care to veterans, the homeless and children in need who could not otherwise afford treatment. Nelson was a graduate of Northeastern University and of University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He earned a PhD in Nutrition from Boston University. Nelson was known for his caring spirit and great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all his patients, friends and family who cherished him. Services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., BROOKLINE on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 12 NOON. Burial at Lindwood Memorial Park, Randolph. Memorial observance will be private.
