
Norma (Merson) Bloom, beloved wife of Aaron Bloom, generous aunt, and beloved cousin, died at her Watertown home on August 13. Born and bred in Lewiston, Maine, Mrs. Bloom spent most of her adult life in the greater Boston area. She was a member of Belmont’s Beth El Congregation, enjoyed working at McLean Hospital, served as a long-time volunteer at Mt. Auburn Hospital, and was an avid shopper. She was voted best dressed in her Lewiston High School class of 1955, moved to New York City for a few years, and relocated to Boston before meeting and marrying her husband of 42 years. She earned her B.A. from Boston University. Mrs. Bloom enjoyed “Talks and Walks” at Tanglewood in the Berkshires, ushering at the New Rep Theater in Watertown, and travels with Aaron. She recently noted, “There isn't much about life I don't like.” She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Beth El Temple Center, 2 Concord Avenue in Belmont, on Sunday August 17, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held Monday August 18 at Beth Abraham Cemetery, 147 Old Danville Road in Auburn, Maine at 12:00 noon.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dress for Success Worldwide, dressforsuccess.org or to Tanglewood, wwwbso.org or to a charity of your choice.
