
Roslyn "Roddy" (Hecker) Bernstein of Lexington, formerly from Greenfield. Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, surrounded by her children. She was 95. Born on October 27, 1927, in Springfield to Pauline and Morris Hecker.
Roddy attended the University of Vermont. She earned a MS degree from Northeastern in Counseling Psychology. She was a guidance counselor and worked at the McLean Hospital. She was a docent at deCordova Museum.
Roddy is predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Bernstein. Together they traveled the world and became avid and published antique collectors. They enjoyed cooking, gardening and doting on their grandchildren.
Roddy joined the Benchmark Commons at Lincoln community in 2016. She made many new friends with the residents and staff.
Roddy is survived by her daughter, Bette Ann Weiner; and son James Bernstein; as well as her grandchildren, Elyse Weiner, Evan Weiner, Peter Bernstein and Lauren- Bernstein Goldman. She has four great-grandchildren, Jordan Weiner, Cameron Weiner, Ruby Bernstein and Reid Goldman. Roddy is also predeceased by her loving daughter Wendy Sue Bernstein.
Funeral services for Roddy will be held at Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Road, Wayland on Friday, December 23 at 10:00 am followed by interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington. Memorial observance to be announced at the service.
