

Roslyn Virginia Neustadt passed away at the age of 97 from natural causes on September 28, 2025. She lived much of her life in Brookline, MA, in Coolidge Corner. Roslyn was born in Boston on January 1, 1928, to the late Frank and Ruth Neustadt. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Roslyn attended Boston University and received an associate’s degree in Commercial Science before starting a long, successful career in business and health services as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO of the Irving Tanning Company and later as Laboratory Administrator at the Berman-Gund Laboratory at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. At the Berman-Gund Laboratory, she was responsible for the administrative and financial functions of this multidisciplinary research laboratory, which was affiliated with Harvard Medical School, as well as the associated Electroretinography Service of the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. She was also a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators.
Roslyn was a devoted daughter, niece, and aunt, and provided extensive care to her aging mother and uncles for many years. She also adored her great-nephew and niece, Lyle and Ruby, showering them with her attention and love from the day they were born. She was an excellent cook who took great pleasure in creating elaborate and delicious feasts for family and friends, all from scratch. One of her favorite places to visit was the Brookline Farmer’s Market in Coolidge Corner.
Roslyn had many dear friends, including Dr. Jo Johnson, a cherished friend with whom she traveled extensively, from Israel to Alaska to China. She also traveled to the Grand Canyon and Hawaii with her cousin Ruth Davidson. She was an adventurous traveler who would hop on a helicopter or a Zodiac raft for trips over the Grand Canyon or out to sea to visit icebergs. Sheila Weiss, and Jonathon and Tracy Bienen were also longtime friends and honorary family members. She also had a strong bond with her niece, Karuna’s, wife, Dawn DeWolf.
Roslyn was preceded in death by her older brother, Fred, her nephew Michael Neustadt (Stacy Neustadt), and her cousin Ruth Davidson.
Roslyn is survived by her niece, Karuna Neustadt (Dawn DeWolf); her great-nephew and great-niece, Lyle and Ruby Neustadt; and her cousin, Sue Davidson, as well as her caring honorary nieces, Janice Fieldman and Deborah Bancroft (Christopher Marobella).
Roslyn was the living example of a life well-lived. She had a strong sense of family responsibility and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Roslyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
