

Sandra Merrihue "Ora" Bullitt Of CA, formerly of Watertown, MA, on September 2, 2022. Born Svetlana Prishvina, She was born in Gorka, Russia and lived an extraordinary life. At age 7, she was a war child fleeing with her courageous parents who escaped from Russia to Israel then moved to New York and settled in Boston. Her father became a sausage maker. She married a famous mountain climber/scientist and remarried to a tenured Harvard professor. During her career, she established a well-known yoga studio, which was attended by numerous Boston area luminaries. The publication of her book The Gorky Tales is a tribute to her war torn youth as is her generous gift to the Holocaust Museum. She leaves behind two sons, Jeffrey Merrihue and David Bullitt, and grandchildren Ava, Dylan, Gabby and Jenny. A public graveside service will be on Sunday, September 11 at the Temple Emeth Memorial Park, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury at 1:00pm. Please omit flowers.
