

Sandra was the loving mother of Andrew David Levine, and Rachel Levine Foley & her husband Michael Foley. Cherished grandmother of Sam, Will and Luke Foley. Dear sister of Linda Yenkin and her partner Lillian Carlisle, and Bernard Yenkin and wife Miriam. Fond aunt to three nieces and five nephews.
A graduate of Wellesley College, Sandra later earned a master’s degree in education from Lesley College. Early in her career, she followed her passion for education as an art teacher and volunteer in the Newton Public Schools, and then as a tutor in the Cambridge Public Schools.
Sandra accompanied her late husband, Dr. Herbert J. Levine, on groundbreaking medical trips to China, India, and other countries around the world.
In addition to her dedication to education and medicine, Sandra served as a member of the family board of the Yenkin Majestic Paint Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. She was also a docent at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, and a close friend and supporter of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care and the Fenway Health Center.
A quiet benefactor, Sandra supported numerous institutions, including the Countway Library of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical Center, Reichman University in Israel, the Columbus Jewish Federation, and the Columbus Jewish Historical Society.
A funeral service will be held at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Thursday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m., and will be viewable by livestream at www.levinelive.com/sandralevine . Interment to follow at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, West Roxbury. Please see this website tomorrow for the day and time of the service. Shiva will be announced at the service.
