Weiner, Sara (Gershman) of Belmont, MA passed away on January 1, 2021. Born in Boston, MA January 22, 1938. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Weiner. Devoted mother of Craig E. Weiner and his wife Jacqui and loving grandmother of Max and Aaron who she was so fond of and kept up on all of their activities. Sister to Harold and Carol Gershman of Needham. Loving aunt to David Gershman and Mele Coleman, great aunt to Maikah and Aden Gershman. Adored nieces, Sharon and Rachel Gershman who shared a special relationship with her. Also survived by her cherished sister- in- law, Carol Weiner of Belmont. Sara was full of spunk, had a sense of humor and was loved by everyone. Even after having a stroke, she remembered everything. As she would say, “sharp as a tack.” She worked for the Belmont school system for over 36 years and knew everything and everyone. She was a member of Beth El Temple Center of Belmont for over 50 years and would often be found serving tea to the congregants after Friday night services. Prior to going to Wingate in Needham, she walked daily around the track at Belmont High School. She loved knitting, and made several blankets and all of her sweaters. For the past 4 years, she was at Wingate in Needham and was loved by everyone. She knew everyone’s name and could tell you everything about them. She will be missed by all. Our heartfelt thanks to her caregiver Nasime, the caregivers from Good Shepherd Community care and especially, Chris the social worker from Good Shepherd and her nurse, Nancy from Good Shepherd. Sara will be missed by all and will live on in the hearts of everyone.Funeral services will be private. Shiva services will be held via zoom by Temple Beth Elohim. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Community Care https://gscommunitycare.org/ or Beth El Temple Center in Belmont https://www.betheltemplecenter.org/aboutus/contact-info.
