

Sophie was born February 16th, 1989 in Urbana, Illinois. She was the sixth child of seven and the second daughter of Ian and Claude Hobson. Sophie grew up in Urbana with her siblings and as kids they often played with a large cohort of neighborhood children. She attended the Child Development Laboratory, Creative Discovery and Leal Elementary School before attending Home High. As a teenager, Sophie moved to Brookline, Massachusetts, where she attended Brookline High School. After a brief time at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, Sophie matriculated to Boston University where she enrolled in the School of Hospitality Administration. As a young adult Sophie worked in the entertainment and technology industries in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston. Most recently, she became Vice President of Partnerships at a Boston start-up company, Beantown Bedding. She always had ambitions to own her own company and was destined to go far.
Sophie is survived by her beloved boyfriend Alan Ringvald, her six siblings Alex, Jeremy, Nicola, Oliver, Gabriel, and Theodora, step-brothers Jean-Pierre Campbell, Micha Campbell, Max Greene Giannetta, and Leo Greene Giannetta, her parents Ian Hobson and Claude Hobson Campbell, her step-parents David Campbell and Laura Greene, and her grandmother Margaret Hobson of Coventry, England.
A memorial service will be held at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street in Brookline, Friday, December 23rd, 2016 at 11:11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angell Animal Medical Center (http://support.mspca.org/goto/sophiehobson), an organization that meant a lot to Sophie. She will be deeply missed by family and many, many friends from coast to coast. Her extraordinary vibrancy and light has enriched us all and will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
