With deepest sympathy for your loss. What an outstanding husband, Father, grandfather, employer, innovator, etc. Special thoughts to Lorraine with whom I had parent conferences for Susan. I remember Susan well, being a wonderful Student...and playing a stringed instrument?

As soon as Maralyn told me, I immediately pictured Stanley, this lovely, dear man, smiling, giving off such positive vibes. I could see him clearly, gentle, curious to know what a young child like me was thinking, genuinely interested to know who I was becoming later, and regrettably, I haven't seen him in person in many years. But those fond memories remain, and equally of you, Lorraine. I can still hear your laughter and feel your love. I send mine to you now, and to your kids and grandchildren.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Stan. I feel privileged to have met him and to have known him even though it was for a short time. As the current Chair of the Boston Chapter of ASM International we want to collectively pass on our condolences and to honor Stan for his tireless contributions to our Chapter and to Materials Science. My favorite quote from Stan will forever be "Manufacturing is fun!"
