With a profound sense of sorrow yet deep gratitude for the blessed 90 years he shared with us, we, the cherished family of Stanley Irving Kravetz, announce his peaceful passing on June 8, 2023. Stanley was welcomed into this world on February 3, 1933, in Revere, Massachusetts.
An alumnus of Revere High School, Stanley was an enthusiastic football player and a proud member of the ROTC. He continued his commitment to serve by enlisting in the Army, offering his service as a compassionate medic during the Korean War.
Upon graduation from Revere High School, Stanley took up a friendly wager that he couldn't secure a date with the stunning Ina Trieber. Winning the bet was simply the beginning, as he won the heart of the woman who would become the love of his life. Their love story spanned 58 fruitful years, up until Ina's passing.
Post his noble service in the Army, Stanley embarked on a remarkable career in the footwear industry. His journey began with his first job in this sector, ultimately paving the way for him to run companies including, but not limited to, Timberland, The Rockport Shoe Company, The Frye Boot Company, Geox USA and Thorlo as well as serving on the Boards of Rocky Shoes and Boots and Clark's of England.
Stanley's unwavering tenacity, vivacious energy, and innate strength remain an inspiration to us all. An exemplary marketer, an empowering mentor, and a globally acclaimed salesperson, Stanley's professional accomplishments were vast and impressive. However, his most treasured role was that of a family man - a title he cherished above all else. His unyielding support for Israel, his tireless advocacy for the footwear industry, and his distinguished status as a Life Member of Two Ten reflect his enduring dedication.
Stanley was also an ardent sports enthusiast, with golf, tennis, and skiing being his favored pursuits. His love for these sports created countless joyous memories during family trips, a testament to his commitment to spending quality time with his loved ones.
He leaves behind a loving family including four children: Alan (Julie), Marcy Shack (William), Debbi, and Shawn (Jill); eight grandchildren: Rachel Shack (Dr. Robert Rogers), David Shack (Ashley Hopkins-Shack), Jacob Shack, Joshua Kravetz, Eliana Kravetz, Beckett Kravetz, Eva Kravetz, Sophie Kravetz; and five great-grandchildren: Isabelle Shack-Rogers, Olivia Shack-Rogers, Jordan Shack-Rogers, Sloane Shack and Naomi Shack.
Stanley was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Kravetz and Sylvia Gorman, and his loving parents, Philip and Pearl.
A memorial service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park Chapel on Sunday June 11th at 10:00AM, with burial to follow. Shiva will be held at the home of Shawn and Jill Kravetz following the burial and ending at 5:00PM.
Instead of flowers, those wishing to honor Stanley's memory may make remembrances to: Temple Israel of Boston or Temple Emanuel of Andover.
