William "Bill" Max Dain of Newton, MA (81), originally from Brookline, passed away on Tuesday, April 9 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Ruth; father of Daniel Dain (Julie) and Amy Dain (Misha Dudnik); grandfather of Linnae, Ziv, Eli, and Esther; brother to Martha Felton; brother-in-law to Mark Israel; and uncle to Debbie Felton, Leah Felton, and Andrei Israel.
Bill dedicated his life to helping others. After two years in the Peace Corps in Bolivia, he earned an MSW and worked as a social worker at the Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center and at the Whittier Street Health Center. He loved spending time with family, swimming, gardening, and making homemade hot sauces.
Services to be held at 10:30, Friday, April 12th at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Bill may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
