I worked with Barry on a kitchen renovation in his house years ago.  I also lived a block away on 5th Street and ran into him frequently.  Barry was so full of life that he did not seem to even need much sleep!  His boundless energy was always so positive.  No task seemed too large.  No day too full.
Sorry we did not fit in that pool game Barry!

Dear Mollie, I am so very sorry to hear about your son, Barry. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but I do know he will be truly missed by a wonderful lady. My prayers are with you and your entire family

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Founders, Staff and members of New York Memory Center we extend our heartfelt sympathies to family and dear friends. 

Barry was our longest standing Board Member, having served for over 20 years, and was tireless in his pursuit to improve the lives of seniors in Brooklyn.

Our sadness compels us to celebrate his life and we once again extend our deepest sympathies to family and friends of Barry during this most difficult time.

I knew Barry on many different levels, as a friend who loved the enviornment, children, and seniors; as a social entreprenur; as a skilled poker player; and as a man who loved adventure and connecting with people.  You could always strike up a conversation with Barry on just about any topic, why, cause that was the kind of person he was.  He was always in a rush, but he made time and wanted to know about you. In a rush for what, well, to whatever he was doing next, which bet your bottom dollar, it was someting he was passionate about.  

Most of all, he loved community.  He educated the children, helped to improve life for seniors, and even found time to enjoy life, travel, play tennis, drive cool cars, be with his family, and just be with others. 

His energy was infectious.  See you in the after life my friend, and remember, "I'm all in!"

When we first met Barry on the tennis court his warmth and openness encouraged our league play. His optimism showed as he flew araound the court-while battling his condition.Barry will ALWAYS live on court with us.ALWAYS

First met Barry interviewing him for a Science position @ G.S.H.S.  It grew from there to Poker, tennis and golf.
He did many of these things on the same day and probably included a jog and bike ride to boot.  It must be said however, he did not do them simultaneously.  You are missed.

I knew Barry as a skilled and joyous sportsman both on the tennis court and at the poker table. He loved activity and conversation, and everyone enjoyed being around him. Energy and curiosity were so central to him.
I think of Barry and picture him reaching an unreachable tennis shot and hitting it for a winner. How did he do that?

I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing, I have many fond memories of of Barry.

What a terrible shock this is! So sad to lose my friend and former BCUE colleague Barry. He had such incredible spirit and energy, it's hard to believe he's gone.He truly was a force of nature who was well loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Lenore and Sara, please know that my thoughts are with you both at this sad time.

We are very sorry to hear about Barry. We have know him for many years in Park Slope. Barry was very supportive about my career change to education. Barry was a shinning light to generations of children and neighbors. I am very thankful to have known him.

I met Barry on the tennis court and we "hit it off" immediately. We were at the beginning of a friendship that we both were keen to develop. After the diagnosis of his recent illness we spoke fairly often on the telephone. Barry had a magnetic personality and I enjoyed our discussions on and off of the tennis court. I very much looked forward to spending more time together and getting to know his wife, Lenore. I am distraught that his days were ended much too soon. He was fighter and his spirit enriched all who knew him. My condolences to his family.
