VARGAS, David on January 7, 2012. Beloved son of Carol Artieda (nee: Finkel) and Victor Artieda. Loving brother of Consuelo, Kenny, Michael, Lauren, Dan, Michelle, AnneMarie, Colette, Victoria and Crisnell. Also survived by 7 nieces and 4 nephews. David was honorable discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal from the United States Marine Corp after serving on active duty in support of the National Emergency Operation Enduring Freedom II. He was a recipient of the Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. David then took a position as manager of the IHOP restaurant in Mays Landing, NJ. Reposing Thursday, January 12, 2012, 2-5 & 7-10 at the JOHN J. HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2005 West 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY. Funeral Mass Friday, January 13, 2012, 9:30 am at St. Marks Roman Catholic Church, Ocean Avenue and Avenue Z. Interment to follow with military honors in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
