

passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 23rd, 2022.
Eliria was born September 24th, 1960, to Puerto Rican parents
Segundo Hernandez and Guadalupe Toro in Chicago Illinois.
She is survived by her mother Guadalupe and three sisters Skandia, Erika and Enid Hernandez.
Eliria will forever be a loving mother to her children Sara, Juan Carlos, Marilyn, Anthony Bodon, Nelson Ramos
Jr, Joey and Dr. Joshua Beckhusen. She will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren Ariel Peña, Christopher
Hernandez, Gabriella, Nikki Hidalgo, Izabella Houston, Mykaylah, Nylah Bodon, Azaria, Zoe, Zienna Adams,
Nelson Eliel Ramos, and Diego Ramos. It didn’t stop there, Eliria’s motherly heart and love spread to cousins,
friends, and neighbors in the Marlboro community. She always thought of others before herself.
Eliria a school crossing guard for the NYPD 60th precinct, did her job with pride making it more than a career for
her. Eliria’s intersection will never be the same for those she crossed.
She is survived by her husband Joe Beckhusen. Joe loves her and devoted his life to caring for her until her last
day. He will now be carrying the torch to care for others as Eliria did.
She is now a guardian angel alongside her granddaughter Esperanza Hidalgo and her nephew Johnny Morales.
Joining life-long friends she dearly missed.
A visitation for Eliria will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. A visitation will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. An interment will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
